Pioneer Bible Translators (PBT)

“My Word will not return to me empty”

In Isaiah 55 we get a brief reminder of God’s thoughts and ways of doing things being higher or better than our own. Then, Isaiah goes on to say that just as God sends the rain that ends up as food on our tables His Word will yield a crop.  It will not return to Him empty but accomplish everything he intended for it.

In other words, God’s Word brings life just like the rain provides what is needed to live. Like rain doesn’t fall simply to get things wet, God’s Word doesn’t fall from the heavens just so we can have Bibles on bookshelves. His Word is meant to provide guidance, joy, answers to life’s tough questions, and so much more!

But only 429 languages currently have complete Bibles. 4486 language groups around the world are Bible-less. Let’s band together so that God’s word brings about its intended life-giving function. Join our family and Pioneer Bible Translators to get the Bible translated for those who have never heard the Good News of God and Jesus!

PBT’s Mission
Pioneer Bible Translators is the bridge between the church and the Bible-less peoples around the world. We are serving 9.5 million people in 43 language projects on our current fields. God is calling us to expand and begin 26 additional projects in the next 6 years. To accomplish this, we are seeking 200 new missionaries; people who will step up and meet the need for incarnational ministry among Bible-less peoples. Our team is composed of Bible translators, literacy evangelists, church planters and a variety of support personnel serving to accelerate the progress of our ministry.

PBT’s Method
To accomplish this global task, we start with a reliance on persistent, unified, group prayer consistent with the name and mission of Jesus. We believe that it is crucial to live God glorifying lives among those we serve, so that the love and grace of Christ would shine through us and draw others to us. Recognizing the size of the task, we mobilize the church to pray, give, and go with us to accomplish the mission. We recruit, train, send and care for missionaries and their families to serve with excellence where God has called them.  Pioneer Bible Translators seeks to promote the use of scriptures to change lives. We work together with our God-given talents and skills to translate the Bible into the language of the Bible-less peoples. In addition, we develop literacy programs that teach people to read in their language, and we survey peoples to locate needs for future translation projects. It is our hope that these efforts will establish and strengthen area congregations as they read and use scripture.

Community development is another means of demonstrating Christ’s love to the people with projects focused on opening up unreached peoples to the scriptures. We hope to train nationals in as many tasks as possible to prolong the work long after we have gone. We seek to cooperate with all those who share our passion and goals to reach the Bible-less with God’s love.
